These Sausage and Cheese Biscuits are made with only a few simple ingredients and simple to make. No yeast, No kneading, nothing! These can be made in less than 20 minutes! They make a fantastic side dish to any meal!

Makes 12 drop biscuits

These are a perfect side dish to your favorite meal. This sausage and cheese biscuit recipe is super simple and doesn’t require yeast, kneading or rising time.

What Ingredients do I need to make these Sausage and Cheese Biscuits?

  • Self-rising flour -I use Gold Medal brand
  • Plain nonfat Greek yogurt -I use fa*ge or Trader Joe’s
  • Two eggs-divided
  • Jimmy Dean fully cooked turkey sausage crumbles– I like touse Jimmy Dean fully cooked turkey crumbles. They are fully cooked and don’t require cooking or crumbling-another reason is a 3/4 cup is only 3 Smartpoints! You can find this next to the bacon in the refrigerated area at Walmart. If you can’t find it you can always use any brand of cooked turkey sausage and then crumble it yourself. You’ll use 3/4 cup or about 4 oz.
  • Light cheese -I use Trader Joe’s lite 3 cheese blend or Velveeta Shreds

How do I makethese Sausage and Cheese Biscuits?

In a mixing bowl, combine flour and Greek yogurt.

Stir until combined.

Using a spatula stir in 1 egg and mix until all ingredients have been incorporated.

Fold in sausage crumbles and cheese.

Using a spoon, scoop dough and drop dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Repeat steps until 12 biscuits are formed.

Cook for 15-18 minutes or until biscuits are lightly brown.

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400° degrees.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and Greek yogurt. Stir until combined.
  3. Using a spatula stir in 1 whole egg and mix until all ingredients have been incorporated.
  4. Fold in sausage crumbles and cheese.
  5. Using a spoon, scoop dough and drop dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat steps until 12 biscuits are formed.
  6. In a small bowl, beat the other whole egg with 1 Tbsp water to make egg wash. Using a basting brush, brush the tops of the biscuits with egg wash. The egg wash helps make the tops of the biscuits lightly brown.
  7. Cook for 15-18 minutes or until biscuits are lightly brown.
